Josh Hamilton Records Four Homers, Historic Hits Leave Rangers Perplexed, GreenBeanBuddy.com Says

Ft Worth, TX (PRWEB) May 12, 2012

In a game with the Orioles on Tuesday night, Josh Hamilton scored more home runs than Albert Pujols, LATimes.com reported. The Texas Rangers’ outfielder hit four homers, the report stated. And according to the entertainment news site GreenBeanBuddy.com, his historic feat left his own team perplexed.

Specifically, the report said that Hamilton made four home runs and eight run batted ins during the game. On the other hand, highly paid Pujols only made a record of one home run and nine run batted ins so far in the season, detailed the report.

But while many were awed with Hamilton’s Tuesday game performance, others used his single game record to make jokes on Pujols, the report added. Additionally, based on a separate post from USAToday.com, GreenBeanBuddy shared that Hamilton’s four home runs left Rangers bewildered whether to let him go or to keep him in the team.

Here’s a part of the post “Josh Hamilton Recorded Four Homers in One Game” from GreenBeanBuddy.com.

Tuesday night was huge for Texas Rangers Josh Hamilton. In a game against the Baltimore Orioles, the number 23 outfielder recorded four home runs and eight RBIs. His hits made him the 16th player to have four homers in a game in the major league history.

But while the smashing record was undoubtedly a good thing for Hamilton, his lucky streak became a quite a mockery for Angels Albert Pujols. Though much more highly paid, Pujols current record for the season is only one HR and 9 RBI. And that MLB fans were quick to point out in comparison with Hamiltons hot start.

In TimesTalks Conversation on FORA.tv, Bob Costas Calls Football ‘Unacceptably Brutal’ and Says ‘Horrific’ Events at Penn State Tarnish Reputation of Joe Paterno

San Francisco (PRWEB) December 11, 2011

In partnership with the New York Times, FORA.tv launches another compelling conversation into the TimesTalks video series. This latest conversation is a wide ranging exchange on sports in America between NBC sportscaster Bob Costas and sportswriter and journalist Bob Lipsyte. Their conversation was taped before a live audience on Wednesday evening, December 7, in New York City.

Video of the complete conversation is now available as a premium event exclusively on FORA.tv at http://fora.tv/conference/costas_lipsyte and via the FORA.tv Conference Channel iPad app.

Costas pulled no punches and left no doubt about where he stands on two hotly debated sports issues: violence in football and the legacy of Penn State legend Joe Paterno.

When asked by Mr. Lipsyte about the current controversy surrounding the serious problem of concussions in football and what must be done, Costas was clear: The game is unacceptably brutal. Can I say it more plainly than that? The game is unacceptably brutal.

And in a discussion on the legacy of former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, in light of the recent child abuse scandal there, Costas considered the many benefits Joe Paterno brought to Penn State both on and off the field. He ultimately concluded, this [scandal] is so horrific that even with all the accomplishments and all the good that Joe Paterno did, undoubtedly in an imperfect way it tips the balance. Its going to be very hard to extract from this story all the good things that Joe Paterno did.

New junior Golf Website Launches in January to Help Shore up Participation Among Youthful Players, says Golfersadvice.com

Austin, TX. (PRWEB) November 24, 2011

A new junior golf website dedicated to shoring up participation in the game will launch this January, 2012, says golfersadvice.com, a golf news and instructional destination. According to the website, which publishes a number of golf-related books and online golf travel sites, the new junior golf website is an effort stem the continued erosion in the game, especially among

young golfers and women.

Were taking to heart what Jack Nicklaus has been trumpeting for years… that golf has to become more user friendly in order to survive, said golfersadvice.com senior writer Joe Brown. Nobody could have put it any better than Mr. Nicklaus when he said, weve lost 34 percent of junior golfers and 23 percent of female players. If youre the CEO of a corporation and have those numbers, you say, what do I do?

Brown believes that launching a new website in these troubled economic times may not be the best business strategy, if something isnt done to keep kids playing the game, the sport could suffer irreparable losses in the future.

“For a kid to stick with golf on their own, theyve got to be tremendously motivated, said Brown, who said his 11-year old son chose video games over golf last summer after becoming frustrated with the sport. I mean, a kid doesnt start off playing tackle football, or step into the batters box to face a 60 mph fastball in little league. Instead, they gradually build their skills and gain confidence until their ready to actually play the sport in earnest. In junior golf, though, we throw our kids to the lions and expect them to love it.

Brown says the new junior golf website will focus on equipment, golf tips, special discounts, and new rules and golf courses intended to make the game more enjoyable for the entire family.

For example, we wholeheartedly endorse the modified event that Nicklaus hosted earlier in the year, Brown said. It was a 12-hole tournament with the tees moved forward. And circumferences of the holes were eight inches, as opposed to 4.25 inches. The junior golfers loved the event, because they got to watch more balls drop into the cup, which is so crucial in building confidence in this game.

Brown also believes that cutting a round of golf from 18 holes to 12 holes will naturally attract more families. In todays stressful world, between work, school and shuttling the kids all over town for lessons fewer and fewer families have time to spend five plus hours on the golf course. At Jacks event, the longest around was a little over two hours a more reasonable time frame for busy families.

Brown says the new junior golf website will extensively cover the USGAs Tee it Forward Program that enables beginning players to move the tee forward enough to make the holes more age appropriate in length. If the game doesnt face the realities of the times and adjust accordingly, well become irrelevant as a sport. Thats why we feel this new junior golf website is so important.

The publishers of golfersadvice.com also believe that with golf returning as an Olympic sport for the first time in 100 years, this is an ideal time to generate interest in the sport with youngsters.

Our coverage of the 2016 Olympics in Rio will actually start in February, Brown said. I cant think of a better way to fire up junior golfers in the game than by writing about the Olympics. In fact, one of our regular features on the junior golf website will be called The Road to Rio. The new junior golf website will also feature stories written by kids about the sport from their perspective, including event coverage, equipment tips and specific kid-friendly golf courses.
